Timeless Destinations was formed by some of the Directors of Gatecon 2005 who wanted to have our convention stay in Vancouver, BC. The other directors had already decided on running Gatecon 2006 in the UK. For over 6 years Gatecon has operated in Vancouver as a fan run, charity driven convention organized to support Stargate SG-1. Over a quarter million $US had been raised to support local Vancouver charities i.e. Make A Wish, CCFF, etc. through the efforts of our guests, attendees & directors of Gatecon.

In 2004 Gatecon was required to start paying MGM a licensing fee. In 2005 the fee was going to be even higher. We decided to tell MGM no thanks. Late in the convention season, we decided to run a multi-genre convention & support a number of Sci-Fi, Action & Fantasy TV shows & films.

Gatecon 2005 was our first multi-genre convention. Starting as early as March 2005, we started inviting over 45 guests. When our convention occurred in July we had only 5 guest cancellations - Kevin Durand, Leni Parker, Richard Chevolleau, Jeremy Bulloch & Kandyse McClure. However 45 actors, directors, producers, behind the scenes personnel - Kevin Sorbo, Robert Picardo, Richard Hatch, Lanni Tupu, Ellen Dubin, Andrew Jackson, Lisa Ryder, etc... where all there at Gatecon 2005.

This year, we have already invited 23 guests to-date & will probably have another 22 or more guests coming. It should be noted that there is always the possibility that a guest may land a film or TV gig during the convention & may have to cancel coming to TD2006. This can happen even a week before the convention. Therefore do not come to TD2006 if you are coming for one individual only. We will try to give our attendees as many choices as possible. If we get sufficient notice from the guest that they are not attending, we try to replace the individual with some one from the same show or film. That's all we can do.

Our official dates of TD2006 are from July 31st. to August 6th. Our full registration ticket is $250.00 US or less than $5.00 per hour if you attend all day events. That doesn't include our evening parties, auctions, costume ball, etc. There are some additional costs associated with our banquet, signing sessions, studio tours, etc.

Besides the regular convention activities / stage panels which run from about 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, we have a cocktail party for the first 200 ticket buyers, a number of studio tours, photo sessions, work shops, signing sessions, a boat tour complete with a performance given by some of our guests, etc. In the evenings, we have a banquet with guests at your table, the Sekh Party, the costume ball, the big charity auction & the final night a wrap party for the volunteers & guests. We have a movie theatre running continually showing movies, independent films, actors demos, the premiering of many unseen projects. After all expenses are paid the balance left over goes to the charities. We assume we will have about 750 attendees which is our maximum limit based on the size of our hotel grand ballroom. Appreciate that July / August is the height of our tourist season in Vancouver and hotel convention space is not plentiful nor cheap.

We have posted this long explanation so that you may know more about us. Unfortunately there are some so called Lexx fans who are nothing but nihilists. For the future nihilists, attacking rude & sarcastic queries & comments will be ignored.

For the record, a couple of Gatecon 2005 actor guests raved to their friend, Michael McManus, about Timeless Destinations & our manner of operating. Michael seemed impressed. We have had two telephone conversations with him. We have finalized him coming to TD2006 next August, 2006. We will be recommending to Michael that he make some kind of public statement about his plans to attend TD2006. Since Michael is moving back from Europe to Canada & won't be settled until November, 2005, don't expect any announcements from him until then. Other than this statement this is all we are prepared to state or comment on Michael McManus coming to TD2006. We will post any future announcements on this topic as soon as we know anything.
